DOUCET, JACQUES

(1853-1929)
Born in Paris, Doucet lived in the area of the city where all of the couture houses were situated and was a playmate of the Worth sons. After taking over his family's fashion business, Doucet became a successful couturier. He is also credited with discovering Paul Poiret and Madeleine Vionnet.
